This double 'on roof' thermal system was installed to provide hot water to this domestic property.
The panels are connected to a hot water tank, and faces south.
Throughout the summer months the panels can provide the majority of the property's hot water requirements. Through the winter months the panels are less productive, so the hot water is topped up by the immersion heater.
Solar thermal installations are also eligible to claim the renewable heat incentive ( RHI ), helping to recover the initial costs of the installation, in addition to any savings made by lower energy bills.
